WORKFORCE SURVEYS AFTER RENEWAL

The RN workforce survey will be available after renewal of your RN license.  If your are an APN, you have the option to complete this survey but we would request that you complete the APN workforce survey being offered for the first time in 2016.  See details below.

The Illinois Center for Nursing (ICN) will be offering IL Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs) the opportunity to participate in the collection of data, which will be used by health planners to provide access to quality healthcare in Illinois. This survey is consistent with, but shorter than the HRSA designed national Sample Survey of Nurse Practitioners (NSSNP). Though you may provide the same information that is collected through this survey to a professional association, this is the first time ICN is collecting data on licensed APNs.

Upon completion of payment for an Illinois APN license renewal, APN's will encounter the following transition to the voluntary survey:

"Although this report is not mandatory, your participation is critical, since employees in the field are our best and most reliable real-time source of information available. By participating in this report, you will be helping to ensure that there will be an uninterrupted supply of nurses to meet the increasing future demands in the healthcare industry."

All data will be reported in the aggregate for use in determining nursing workforce projections and needs in Illinois. Individual responses will remain anonymous and confidential. Summary reports, available on the IDFPR website, may be accessed for compilation into national databases or used for comparison with other reported databases. Participation in the surveys is voluntary but very much needed and appreciated!
