ANA-Illinois is proud to present the webinar: Preparing Nurses in Illinois to Address Health Effects of Climate Change – Part 1: Heat Related Illness and Respiratory Health.

According to the National Climate Assessment, temperatures are rising, extreme precipitation is increasing, and air quality is worsening in the Midwest. As a result, there is an increased risk of heat-related illness, mold exposure, mental health distress, injuries, fatalities, exacerbated respiratory health conditions, and vector borne diseases. Nurses can play an essential role in addressing the health effects from climate, but there is a gap in knowledge and awareness among nurses. This two-part webinar will give participants the unique opportunity to gain knowledge to understand the impacts of climate change on human health and the specialty of nurses.

This program will be presented by: Elena Grossman, MPH.

Webinar link will be sent upon registration.

1-hour continuing education will be available.

This activity has been submitted to the Ohio Nurses Association for approval to award contact hours. The Ohio Nurses Association is accredited as an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. (OBN-001-91)
