This Black History Month, we celebrate Mary Eliza Mahoney, the first Black registered nurse in the United States.
In 1879, Mary Eliza Mahoney broke barriers in nursing when opportunities for Black women were extremely limited. Her dedication, resilience, and commitment to compassionate care helped open doors for generations of nurses to come.
Today, we honor her legacy and the countless Black nurses who continue to lead, heal, and advocate for their communities every day. 🖤
