Implicit bias is defined by the dictionary as “unconscious favoritism toward or prejudice against people of a particular ethnicity, gender, or social group that influences one’s actions or perception.” This program will discuss the definition and recognition of Implicit Bias, causes and effects of Implicit Bias, and ways to reduce the impact of Implicit Biases.

Learning Objective: Participants will self-report knowledge on how to recognize, interrupt, and mitigate implicit bias in healthcare.

This activity offers 1.0 contact hour to attendees. This program satisfies mandatory state requirements for implicit bias.
