Your New VP: Samuel Davis Jr.

Sam is committed to fostering growth within ANA-Illinois. His experience in Perioperative and Interventional Services and nursing leadership not only highlight his dedication to improving patient outcomes, but also showcase his ability as a leader for ANA-IL. For Sam, serving on the board is not just an opportunity, but also a responsibility to give back to the nursing community.

“Being elected as an ANA-Illinois Board Member is an incredible honor. It means having the opportunity to collaborate with dedicated nursing professionals to advance our practice, influence health policy, and make a meaningful impact on patient care throughout Illinois. I’m excited to contribute my experience and passion to support and empower nurses across our state.”

Sam has been a member of ANA-IL for four years. As a member, he recognizes the value in the collaborative platform and community engagement ANA-IL provides members. From staying informed on legislative policy, to educating others on the importance of health policy knowledge, Sam encourages all members to get actively involved with ANA-IL.

“By staying engaged with ANA-IL, I can help bridge the gap between policy and practice, ensuring that nurses are well-prepared to influence positive changes in healthcare delivery.”

Tommie Cline: New Board Member

Tommie’s decision to join the ANA-Illinois Board was fueled by a desire to leverage her leadership experience for the greater good. With a diverse nursing background, extensive leadership experience, and a passion for advancing the profession, she brings fresh insights and enthusiasm to the board.

“I wanted to leverage my leadership experience for a greater good. Joining the Board of ANA-IL will allow me to serve the profession of nursing at a higher level while making the most impact.”

Tommie has been  a member of ANA-IL for six years. For Tommie, joining ANA-IL opened a door of invaluable networking opportunities. Finding like minded professionals within the industry to learn from and work with has helped her to round out her nursing career. Additionally, ANA-Illinois continuing education opportunities have also proven valuable for Tommie by giving her the resources to stay up to date and informed on important industry topics.

“I am pleased to have been elected to the Board of Directors for ANA-IL. It is my sincerest hope that my years of leadership experience will help drive the profession of nursing and the spirit of innovation within our state.”

Introducing: Sunny Hampsey, New Board Member

For Sunny, becoming a Board Member was an important step in advancing her nursing leadership. Sunny has been a nurse for 17 years. After stepping into her first major leadership role in 2017 as a director for Quality Management, she found her true calling as a leader. For the past two years, Sunny has been a Vice President of Nursing, making her leadership experience a valuable asset for ANA-Illinois.

“I ran for the ANA-IL Board this year to take a more active role in ANA-IL. I felt it would be an opportunity to help make an impact on the nursing profession and patient care on a larger scale.”

Sunny has been a member of ANA-IL for two and half years. She has found many opportunities for personal and professional growth. ANA-Illinois ability to connect nurses across Illinois has helped her advance her career.

“I am honored to have this opportunity to serve on the ANA-IL Board. I look forward to serving ANA-IL, advocating for Illinois nurses, and working to advance the nursing profession within the state of Illinois.”

“Being on the membership committee, we’re trying to do things to increase our membership and tailor it to all the different types of generations out there.”

Diana has been a long standing member of ANA-Illinois and has found the value of legislative education and influence invaluable. As a result, her commitment to ANA-IL has only increased throughout her years of membership.

“I get an introduction to all the bills that ANA and ANA-Illinois are following. Our legislative committee works to make sure that the bill language is correct and it is something we can support.”

New Board Member and Position: Sarah Quick

While Sarah may have only recently completed her nursing degree, her experience in nursing and leadership make her not only the perfect candidate to join the Board, but also the perfect person to pioneer a new position. Sarah will be joining the ANA-Illinois Board of Directors as our new Recent Graduate Director.

“I was a previous board member of the Student Nursing Association of Illinois. Now that I have graduated, I feel like the New Graduate position would be a great way to transition into being a new nurse and still being able to advocate. I figured it couldn’t hurt to run.”

For the past two years, Sarah has been working closely with ANA-IL as the President of SNAI. She became an official member in July after passing her Board Exams. Sarah’s leadership experience with SANI, combined with how closely she has worked with the board in the past make her excited to contribute to advancing the nursing industry in Illinois.
