Leticia Garcia, B.A., R.N

My name is Letty Garcia and being an advocate for others is my passion. I was raised in the Southwest side of Chicago. As a 1st generation Latina my parents instilled strong work ethics and compassion for others. My siblings and I were raised to achieve our personal goals while leaving an act of kindness behind where we could. As long as I can remember, I continuously try to do both.

I have always had an interest in politics, community, and healthcare. I ran for office because I felt it necessary since so many decisions are being made regarding a women’s body and health care. I believe in the importance of a politician who works with community clinics for health care accessibility and education on diabetes, obesity, high cholesterol, pregnancy, breastfeeding & mental health awareness.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time volunteering and sitting on executive boards making decisions for the overall betterment of the community. I am also a nature lover and enjoy long walks around different parks. Lastly, I am a new mom to a beautiful 6-month-old baby boy and a wife.

I’m ecstatic to be part of the 1st Nursing Leadership Program and cannot wait to see nurses grow in the political world.
