Stacy Gates, MSN, RN

Stacy was born in Puerto Rico and raised in Colorado, Stacy received her Bachelor of Arts in Forensic Anthropology from the University of Wyoming. While there, she joined the military and ultimately served for 10 years.

As a second act in her unconventional journey, she received her Masters of Science in Nursing from DePaul University in Chicago and is currently a Registered Nurse in Denver, CO. This December will mark her 6th year in the field and includes experience in Complex Medicine, Labor and Delivery, Orthopaedics and Spine, Systems-Level  Nurse Navigation,    and Dialysis.

She has seen first hand how policies and laws, or lack thereof have a direct affect on communities especially those with less wealth and social capital. These issues are complex and systemic and require solutions that can only be accomplished by changing policy and law. As such she is excited to learn how to position herself in order to represent these vulnerable and underrepresented populations in the future.

Her varied life experiences have afforded her the opportunity to work with multiple populations on a variety of issues and she cannot wait to learn how to step it up on a larger scale.

Her hobbies include singing, dancing, and rowing. She enjoys time with family, friends, and her mischievous fur baby Maya.
