ANA Illinois is calling on members across the state to step forward and serve. The 2026 election is now open for nominations, and it is an important opportunity for nurse leaders and emerging leaders to help shape the association’s future and strengthen the voice of nursing in Illinois.
On behalf of the ANA Illinois Nominating Committee and Board of Directors, members are invited to consider board service and service on the Nominations Committee. In 2026, the membership will elect 10 colleagues to serve in key leadership roles. Open positions include Vice President, Treasurer, two Directors, one Recent Graduate Director, three Nominations Committee Members, and two ANA Representatives, one representative and one alternate. All terms are for two years.
ANA Illinois is seeking members from across Illinois who are ready to lead, contribute their experience, and represent the profession with integrity. The Nominating Committee is working to build a strong ballot and encourages members to identify and support qualified colleagues who are prepared to serve.
Members interested in running should review the election resources before submitting a Consent to Serve. These materials outline the responsibilities of elected leaders and include guidance on board expectations, time commitment, legal and fiduciary obligations, conflict of interest, confidentiality, financial oversight, and bylaws. Candidates are also encouraged to review the required questionnaire in advance and prepare their responses before starting the online form.
Candidates may apply for one elected position among Vice President, Treasurer, Director, or Nominations Committee Member. They may also apply to run for ANA Representative, either as a standalone candidacy or along with one of those elected positions.
The deadline to complete the online Consent to Serve is May 31, 2026. The ballot will be published online on June 16, 2026. The Candidates Forum will be held virtually on July 15, 2026. Online voting will take place from July 31 through August 14, 2026. Election results will be announced at the Membership Assembly on September 12, 2026, during the Professional Issues Conference.
This is a time for members to lead with purpose and help advance ANA Illinois’s mission. If you are ready to serve, or know a colleague whose voice and leadership would strengthen the association, now is the time to act.
