Politics, Policy & Nursing, why being involved is important to your future.

This program is designed to give nurses and student nurses a basic understanding of the political process and current policy issues that will be addressed in Springfield in 2020.  It is vital that nurses are aware of this so that they can appropriately advocate for or against legislation that impacts the profession and our patients.  Attendees will also receive updated information on the nurse practice act and staffing legislation. After participating in the event attendees will be able to identify how to best put their advocacy skills to work in advocating for each other and the nursing profession as a whole.

Topics include:

  • Civics 101
  • How to be an Advocate
  • Current Regulatory Issues… Delegation in Community Settings and the nurse staffing crisis
  • other hot topics

Heavy hor d’oeuvres will be provided and 1.5 hr of CE available.
