The goal of this presentation is to educate nursing professionals regarding advocating on their own behalf to protect and defend their nursing license before the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR). An overview of the licensure disciplinary process will be presented, with a discussion of the types of actions that can lead to an investigation. Nursing professionals will also be educated as to their legal rights and responsibilities, as well as strategies to advocate on their own behalf in disciplinary matters. The presentation will provide insight into the various outcomes to a licensure investigation, including discipline and alternatives to the disciplinary programs, with emphasis on the nurses’ role to mitigate any discipline to his/her license.  Webinar link will be sent upon registration.
