My name is Aderemi Lawal and I prefer Remi. I was born and raised in Nigeria and came to the USA in April 2001. When I moved to the U.S., I stayed with my uncle in Kalamazoo, Michigan, till July of the same year, and came to Chicago to stay with my aunt. Currently, I work at Aunt Martha’s Wellness Health as a primary care provider; and at Jesse Brown VA as a Registered Nurse. I have been with Jesse Brown, VA, since 2013. I graduated from Governors State University with a Master of Science in Nursing specializing in family practice. I went to Aspen University for a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and an associate in Nursing Science from the City College of Chicago. I am an army veteran, served in Illinois Army National Guard for 16yrs, deployed with 33ASG to Afghanistan, a member of NNU and safety officer, a union rep, ANA, Sigma Theta Tau, ANNP Advocate for Medicare for All, Nurses for democracy, and health equity.
