ANA-Illinois is pleased to offer recorded webinars for continuing education credit.  Each webinar is approved for 1.0 hr of professional development.

To access the webinar – you will need to register. After registration, you will receive an email with the link to the recording.  When you access the link, you will need to enter your name and email.  After viewing the webinar, you will need to complete an evaluation, and then you will receive the certificate via email within five business days of completing the evaluation.  If you have any questions about the process, you can contact Trish Janca at trish@sysconsultingsolutions.com

Workplace Harassment: Your Rights & Responsibilities

In 2018, The Illinois Legislature enacted a law that requires all licensed professionals who are required to have continuing education to obtain 1.0 hour of continuing education credit beginning January 2020 license renewal. Workplace sexual harassment is an ongoing issue in society and health care today.

This program will assist nurses to

  • Understand what sexual harassment is
  • Know your rights and responsibilities
  • What you should do if you are a victim of sexual harassment.

Marijuana & Your Patients

In 2019, The Illinois Legislature expanded access to medical marijuana and enacted a law that legalizes the recreational use of marijuana in the state. It is important that nurses understand the new policies in Illinois and how they impact our patients.

This program will cover the following material:

  • Recognize the science behind cannabinoid receptors and their physiology
  • Discuss which patients are eligible for medical cannabis therapy in the state of Illinois
  • Discuss the strains of cannabis and the differences between them
  • Examine the cautions and contraindications of medical cannabis therapy
  • Discuss how recreational use may impact your patients
  • Explore nursing implications related to the care of those using medical and/or recreational marijuana.

Nurse Staffing Improvement Act of 2020 - What you need to know

Staffing continues to be a challenge for our profession. We will review the current challenges faced in Illinois and how we begin to address this issue by empowering nurses to have a true voice in a committee that is responsible for developing, evaluating, and changing the staffing plan. Join us for an update on SB 3636 Nurse Staffing Improvement Act of 2020.

Objective: 

  • Attendees will be able to state three key tenets of the Nurse Staffing Improvement Act of 2020.
