Join ANA-Illinois for our July Nursing Hot Topics. Our July webinar will be a deep dive into Implicit Bias. We encourage participants to prepare questions for our expert speakers. We hope that you will join us for the discussion.

Implicit bias is defined by the dictionary as “unconscious favoritism toward or prejudice against people of a particular ethnicity, gender, or social group that influences one’s actions or perception.” This program will discuss the definition and recognition of Implicit Bias, causes and effects of Implicit Bias, and ways to reduce the impact of Implicit Biases.

Speaker: Ashley Whitlatch DNP, MBA, APRN, FNP-C

Ashley Whitlatch is an experienced Advanced Practice Nurse with a demonstrated history of working in the hospital & health care industry. She is skilled in Medicine, Science, Nursing, Medical Office, and currently building her skills in Business Administration. Ashley is a strong healthcare services professional with a Master of Science in Nursing while completing a Doctor of Nurse Practice and Master of Business Administration focused in Family Practice Nurse/Nursing from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Ashley is also a 2021 recipient of the Illinois Nurses Foundation 40 Under 40 Emerging Nurse Leaders Award and an active member in the ANA-Illinois Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee.
