What inspired you to become a nurse?
My husband he was a physician
How long have you been a nurse, and what specialties or areas have you worked in?
51 years surgery, cardiac, women health management and education
What is one thing you love most about the nursing profession?
The evolvement over the last 50 years from hand maiden to APRN
What does being a member of ANA-Illinois mean to you?
The benefits, networking with colleagues, and being in touch with the issues.
What is one challenge in healthcare or nursing that you are passionate about improving?
Empowering future nurses to be competent, confident, and compassionate in their nursing journey.
What advice would you give to nursing students or early-career nurses?
Time management, self-care, study and practice, follow your passion.
What accomplishment in your nursing journey are you most proud of?
Getting my Master’s in Nursing in Education at 63 years of age.
Outside of nursing, what are some hobbies or things you enjoy doing?
Crafts, Reading Baking, Being Grandmother and study for my CNE
